Cautious All This Time
04:31
|
|||
They want to love you
They want to stare
They want to do just about everything
My old nothing
Is built on looks
Make it work for me
Through all nothing’s pleas
Dream of an anchor
Hold ‘til it hooks
Watch up through the surface
As the surface flees
Perhaps we’ve been too cautious all this time
Build myself a shack in the woods
Home is where the heart cries slow and alone
It’s never really a good time to roam
Affable fascists
Do they spell out flowers?
Will we find out what our hearts
Are fading for?
They tell us nightmares
Where we take back hours,
So go on, good soldier
There’s only this one war

All Life Long
03:34
|
|||
I would call any night or day, if you
Needed me in the worst way, all you
Have to do is to let me know, that you
Just want this to be so
I can breathe
In your heat
I'm calling out
Falling in time
Retracting doubt
Falling in line
Masses lift up your faded brow
Out of the vine
Gift me your heart
Gift me your heart
All life long
I would come any night or day, if you
Wanted me in the best way, all you
Have to do is to let me know, that you
Just want this to be so

Home is Half The Hope
04:01
|
|||
You've been swept by an avalanche
You've been lifted through a razor wire
I'll be everything good about a rainy day
Laughing, soaked from the sweet storms
Bullied thorough through a thankless sweep
Keep your charms, love, or let your charms keep you
Singing;
My own loss to wear. Have I
Drifted through the eye?
Moaning softly, "Let it cope." Oh..
Home is half the hope
Humming long for a tear
Glazed up in fear
Spendthrift with the summer dawn
Sprout leaves like a thistle-weed
Overgrown lawn singing with the greenest calm
Dry caps past the last light
Broad dreams in plastic as they say
Break sleep with an eye for a long way in
I left you on the mezzanine
Looking down on your fragile dreams
All my organs spread out in a display
Some laugh caught in amber
Dug out from a rough slope
Trapped breath whispering home is half the hope
Home is half the hope

Too Long To Realize
06:43
|
|||
I took a light from the fire,
Let it lift me out through the whispers.
These soft hands held embers
Hotter than any memory’s eyes.
I am falling asleep
Up in the air, where the claims run wide,
And time ticks on through me;
Ripples fresh with the sky.
Vibrating long and wistful,
Turning eyes toward the clearest why.
Human hope survives
Like a cockroach in nuclear tide.
But after all this,
You turned to me and lied,
You felt all history is truth
Then you turned around and my short history died.
May they play our last favorite song
Until the sun winds down.
We'll dream of ghost sheep
While the ship leaves the slip and runs aground.
And all these desires took
Too long to realize.
Nothing ever made sense when
I held sense back with a knife.
And all we conspired to took
Too long to realize.
Everything should make sense when
I push sense up to the light.
But it’s full and far from truth.
Thoughts swirl around
As I emerge up the hill
Bearing my broken heart on hunched shoulders
Time weighs heavy
Holds me down
Like gravity’s fingers dragging through solid ground
I took a sign from the height
Let it realize I was the dream.
Wrapped up in yarn,
Where I couldn’t harm the gleam.
Sip from the cup of the day
Hot like a memory’s eyes.
But all these quiet, short days take
Too long to realize.

Inopportune Mood
05:04
|
|||
breeze through a vow
throws me a dream
listing on a crave
fell through the wave
distracted aches
warped by time
come to see me as you
drift along light
half blood harm
held back by a flight
last thing to soothe
drowning and nude
in inopportune mood
tragedies play
on magnet strips burnt
that heavenly song
on drunk litany’s tongue
parrot of a chime
doubt all sore
polish rubs off
reveals bitter gleams
orange with rust
all not what it seems

All You Like
04:28
|
|||
One to burn, Two to learn,
So many rocks you can turn
Promise lines, Get on the mind
All of these thoughts for the blind
Soft to seem, so hard to gleam
Somebody said it was a dream
Hold the claim, bury all the shame
Break it down and blame
Very fine, drifting wild, heavenly wine
Catch them under the sheet
Set the loop with a treat
You can hope all you like
Trip them up as they roam
Drag them back home
You can hope all you like
All you like
One all fine, but these two are mine
Put up a hand, make a sign
Aw Such a state, carry all that weight
Another helping for your plate
Aw But it’s no use, you gone too abstruse
Lay downwind and set it loose
and the Ghosts surround the fevered ground
Clamp your ear and wait for sound
